Data deletion

smik.ai respects your right to erasure. Below is how to request deletion of the data tied to your connected accounts.

Request deletion

Enter the email you signed up with. We will send a confirmation link to that address – the deletion happens when you follow it. The request alone deletes nothing: the link goes only to the mailbox owner.

Via Facebook / Instagram

Remove the smik.ai app in your Facebook settings (Settings → Apps and Websites) or Instagram – that is the revocation on Meta's side. Meta automatically notifies us; we then delete the tokens we stored for that account, along with its personal data and files. You will receive a confirmation code.

Via Google / YouTube

Google does not notify apps when access is revoked, so the order is reversed here: disconnect the YouTube channel inside smik.ai and we revoke our access at Google right away, invalidating the token. You can also revoke it from Google's side, on the “Third-party apps with account access” page; data already stored with us is then deleted through the request form above.

Other platforms

For X, LinkedIn, Reddit, TikTok, Threads and Telegram, disconnecting the account in smik.ai deletes the tokens and data stored with us. Revoking access on the platform's own side is done in its app settings – we say so plainly rather than implying we do it for you.

By request

You can also email support@smik.ai with the subject “Data deletion”, listing the connected accounts. We will process the request and confirm the deletion.

What is deleted

The access tokens stored with us are deleted immediately; for Google we additionally revoke the access on their side, and with Meta the removal of the app in its own settings does that. Personal data and uploaded files tied to the account are deleted. As permitted by law we retain an anonymized proof of deletion (a hash), but not the data itself.
